Our Story
Convex Energy Inc. was founded in March of 1978 by Mr.
Leo Lalonde and Mr. Bernard Charron. With the opening
of Convex, growth and opportunity became abundant,
which required more warehouse space prompting the
lease of 1549 Chatelain including Breezehill Ave but
all the while maintaining 1555 Chatelain as the main
branch.
Within five (5) years Convex Energy exceeded many
expectations, including the buy out of Mr. Charron
leaving Mr. Leo Lalonde as sole proprietor of Convex
Energy Inc. With business growing at such a rapid
rate, many new products were acquired such as,
Keeprite, Olsen, Newmac, Lincoln Barriere, Brock
including an increase of parts inventory. New premises
were required to house such a growing inventory. With
a larger inventory, warehouse expansion was much
needed, hence 1771 Woodward Dr. became the new home of
Convex Energy Inc. with an employment growth of 5
employees in 1978 to 25 employees in 1991. The sheet
metal shop was also working at full capacity by then
and in 2000, Convex Energy Gatineau was opened to
increase the service within the Ottawa and Outaouais
regions with a staff of 10 in the Quebec branch.
Over a period of thirty five (35) years in business we
have gathered a qualified team of experienced
employees, many trained under the watchful eye of Mr.
Lalonde himself, to which he lost his battle to heart
disease in June of 2008. Today Convex Energy Inc.
continues with pride with the second generation
(Michel Lalonde) at the helm, servicing many an old
and new customer alike. Mr. Lalonde’s (Leo) vision of
allowing the contractor all the opportunities for
growth and prosperity continues to be our focus.
Remaining wholesalers to the contractor only, we
continue in keeping Leo’s vision a priority all the
while respecting and appreciating the loyalty of so
many over this thirty (35) year period. Our inventory
also continues to increase with new and innovative
products in keeping with today’s technology. Our
delivery service which includes a 150 mile radius in
the Ottawa and Quebec regions has also allowed us to
reach many remote areas.
We are looking forward to many more years of continued
business with the contractor, to which their input and
requirements are first and for most our priority.
