Our Story
Convex Energy Inc. was founded in March 1978 by Mr. Leo Lalonde and Mr. Bernard Charron at 1555 Chatelain in Ottawa. Rapid growth prompted the lease of 1549 Chatelain to increase warehouse space and make room for future opportunities.
Within 5 years, Convex Energy Inc. exceeded all expectations. Many new products were added to inventory, including the KeepRite brand that is still a prominent part of Convex business, and new premises were required to house such a growing inventory.
1771 Woodward became the new home of Convex Energy Inc., and staffing jumped from 5 to 20 employees over a few short years. In 2000, Convex Energy Gatineau was opened to increase service within Ottawa and the surrounding areas.
Over the last 45 years in business, we have gathered a qualified team of experienced employees, many of whom were trained under Mr. Leo Lalonde himself. Mr. Lalonde lost his battle with heart disease in 2008, but his strong work ethic continued through the generations with his son Michel Lalonde and grandson Marc Lalonde. Michel retired in 2021, and today Marc is the manager of Convex Energy Gatineau.
Remaining as a contractors-only wholesaler, we continue in keeping Leo’s vision of customer loyalty and respect a top priority at Convex. We are constantly re-evaluating our inventory and adding new products to keep up with evolving technology. Our delivery service spans a 150 mile radius in the Ottawa and Quebec, servicing both in-town and remote areas for our contractors.
